82/08, 26 years ago, the Clash at Shea Stadium...

The Roaring Clash, ready for the battle, were opening that night, 13 rd October 1982, for The Who. The show is amazing and it's a great great live LP. Usually I don't like live LP (greatest hits with a crowd sound, but this one is a great testimony of The Clash Live)...

Hi, me again after a few months away. Great to see everyone here and particapating. So wonderful!

Great to be back, I’m looking forward to all your wonderful surprises. Thanks!

Well, I certainly think this is too tight, and a little cold (despite Joe Strummer's wonderful vocal performance).

Terry Chimes's drumming is far too dry and stiff, compared to Topper Headon's. He's doing fine on the two punk numbers included here("English Civil War" and "Tommy Gun"). But don't you think that tracks like "Rock the Casbah", "Magnificent Seven", "Guns of Brixton" and oh god... "Armagideon time" suffer from a blatant lack of G.R.O.O.V.E. ??

I'll go back to the handful of live tracks included in the "Clash on Broadway" instead. This "Shea Stadium" thing clearly doesn't match my Clash tastes...
