An artist called Josh T Pearson was playing a gig, earlier this year, in Brighton. It was at a venue called the Brighton Ballroom (lovely venue, holds only about 80 people) and a friend of the owner's called up that afternoon and asked if it was ok if he could come down with a couple of mates and check-out the gig.
The guy who called was Graham Coxon and one of the mates he drove down from London was a certain Mr Paul Weller. Coxon had to show Josh T Pearson to Weller because he considers the artist to be 'the best songwriter in the world'. Weller was knocked out by the gig and within three days was playing anyone who would listen a demo of a new song called Devotion. Well, that same said demo stayed as it was and fitted in with a commission Weller received to write a song for the BBC drama, United.

Yann, sorry this is not clear to me: is "devotion" a new song written by this texan cowboy? and weller was playing his demo around, or is "devotion" a song written by paul someway inspired by the gig he attended?
Thanks for above comment. I was just about to ask the same. Can't work it out.
