Legendary PP Arnold Talks!

PP And John Hellier. PP and Rod Stewart (nope, it's not Weller!), Windsor Jazz and Blues festival, 1967.

"The girl is Ginette, the daughter of Ginger Baker of Cream who had played earlier. Rod was the singer with The Jeff Beck Group who opened their killer set with Marvin Gaye's "Can I get A Witness", simply powerful. PP Arnold had come over to England the previous year as an Ikette with Ike & Tina Turner to tour with the Stones - and BP saw Ike&Tina team at their final UK gig at The Ram Jam Club in Brixton. "One of the raunchiest, dirtiest, most on-fire gigs I've ever seen! Ike was mean and menacing, glowering over his guitars, The Ikettes were the three hottest girls you'd seen since The Ronettes supporting Billy J Kramer And The Dakotas at the Adelphi Cinema in Dublin the year before, Tina scorching like a flame-thrower " our man says now. PP had become a solo star in Britain and at the festival her backing group were The Nice. Mr Fallon's hair curled by Joyce Lonergan
