Noel Gallagher, A life in music (MIkeC)
5-10-15-20 features artists talking about the songs and albums that made an impact on them throughout their lives, five years at a time.
Noel Gallagher is taking a piss when I walk into his corner room at Manhattan's Bowery Hotel. He washes his hands, walks out of the bathroom, and sits down on the couch. He's relaxed, if a bit weary. There is a small, stuffed leather pig in the room, and he seems slightly amused by it. We're used to Gallagher (figuratively) pissing on other bands (or his brother), but, at 44, the onetime Oasis songwriter, guitarist, and singer has mellowed-- though that doesn't stop him from dropping roughly 50 f-bombs during our 30-minute interview. Gallagher's humor comes naturally to him, and he's not really trying to be funny when he flows through expletives with casual finesse.
But he is funny, even if his legendary world-beating days-- the ones where he claimed to be a superhero and said bands like Coldplay were akin to "bland, faceless fucking trainee police officers"-- are in the past. In fact, he likes Coldplay. "When I heard 'Yellow' for the first time, I immediately picked up the guitar and went, 'Fucking bastards, why didn't I write that?'," he says now. "I feel that way about a lot of their songs."

Noel Gallagher: 'I re-recorded Oasis song after Liam refused to sing it'
Noel Gallagher has revealed that two of the tracks on his debut solo album were recorded by Oasis twice.
Speaking in the video interview above, the singer admitted that the track '(I Wanna Live in a Dream in My) Record Machine' was attempted by his former band but wasn't included on any of their albums.
Gallagher said: "It was recorded for 'Don't Believe The Truth' but Liam either refused to sing it or couldn't sing it. I can't remember which one it was.
"Then we re-recorded it for 'Dig Out Your Soul' and it had a 100 piece choir on it. And for whatever reason - I think Liam had fucked off home to get married or something - (it wasn't finished)...It's a shame Liam never got round to singing it.
"It would have made 'Dig Out Your Soul' 10 percent better. I was determined to get it out there. It's been sitting around for 10 years! It's the most Oasis sounding thing on the record, because it was written for Oasis."
In the second part of the interview which can be seen below, Gallagher adds that a similar thing happened with album closer 'Stop The Clocks'

Paul Ties the Knot...
The former Beatle tied the knot at London's Marylebone Register Office, where he also married his first wife Linda Eastman. The wedding has also been held on the same day as John Lennon's birthday.
The couple waved to crowds behind security barries after they made the short drive from McCartney's home in London's St John's Wood to the venue.
Earlier fellow Beatle, Ringo Starr was spotted arriving with around 30 other guests, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The guitarist, who is currently promoting his debut solo album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', has said that he really fancies the idea of fronting a group made up of indie superstars.
Specifically, Noel has said he would like the line-up to consist of himself, former Smiths and Cribs guitarist Johnny Marr, Paul Weller and current Primal Scream and former Stone Roses bassist Mani.
Gallagher added that he would make sure his group had nothing in common with Mick Jagger's new outfit SuperHeavy which features the likes of Joss Stone and Damian Marley, branding the group "fucking ridiculous".

The Action and Paul Weller by François Gorin.
